Kia ora, I'm Aidan. A software dev turned CTO & Product Manager.

Originally from New Zealand 🇳🇿, now living in Asia (Singapore & Bali mostly).

I enjoy using the latest in AI to solve real-world business problems. I use this site to share the latest learnings and real world tips and tricks to make your life as a business owner easier.

Having been building apps since high school, I've always loved how we can use technology to drastically improve our lives; changing the way we live, learn and work.

I started off as a software dev in my late teens and early twenties. That rapidly evolved into playing the CTO game for a handful of early stage startups across Australia and New Zealand.

This means working directly with the founders and their customers to:

1. ⁉️ Understand exactly what we need to build (and in what order)
2. 🤖 Figuring out how to build it
3. 🚀 Then, leading a dev team to build and deliver

What I'm Currently Working On

SortMe

Currently I'm the Co-Founder, CTO & CPO for SortMe. I'm super proud to say we're changing the way people think about and interact with money, for the better.

Sooo many people are living payday to payday and it doesn't need to be like this!

At SortMe I have the pleasure of leveraging AI, OpenBanking and behavioural psychology to gently push people into better financial habits, creating better financial outcomes and ultimately better lives (ambitious, I know).

Randall's Monitoring (client): Leading a small dev team to completely streamline the way a leading UK political monitoring company operates internally.

StrataVault (client) - leveraging machine learning & AI to seriously change the way Strata Management is run in Australia and New Zealand. Less paperwork, less wastage, more client transparency.

Some past projects

• Freighthub (ex. CTO) - I was the first hire working closely with the founder to build a road friend marketplace in New Zealand. Letting businesses easily book and track their freight while connecting with the top truck companies around NZ to deliver. Proud to say Freighthub is still going strong today with two full time hires from my other company HireIndo 🚀.
  
• LoadEm (fractional CTO) - (because apparently one freight startup wasn't enough) - LoadEm greatly streamlines the way bulk-goods companies manage and track their delivery schedules and truck fleet.
  
• Diversiview (fractional CTO) - Born during covid, Diversiview is an epic stock portfolio analyser. Ensuring that you properly understand how diverse your portfolio actually is while identifying potential areas of risk and areas for optimisation.
  
• ReturnIt (fractional CTO) - Because returning online purchases shouldn't suck! ReturnIt takes the hassle out of returning your online purchases by connecting directly with retailers and courier companies to provide a seamless customer experience.
  
• Context (fractional CTO) - Probably New Zealand's largest architect firm knew there was a better way to work with their clients. So that's exactly what we designed and developer; a client portal that synced up real-time project and billing updates so they always knew what was going on.
